Update . . . The disc was quite rough looking and not too surprisingly skips when I play-tested it. Unfortunately, when I was exploring the options SwapaCD gives us to report the status of a disc's Front & Back inserts (before I had played the disc), the system must have somehow logged my clicks as a report that I had received the disc without any problems. I certainly never intended to report this disc as received without any problems before play-testing it (given how rough the disc looked) and I never clicked through the screen where SwapaCD asks about the postage date, packing materials, etc. Yet, the disc now appears in my transaction archive as successfully completed. A disc I ordered with “Front & Back inserts” arrived with the front and back remains of a poorly cut-up and torn apart digipack covered in library stickers. The booklet that originally came with the disc is missing. I would have never ordered this disc if I had known that it would arrive without the booklet and with the remains of a torn-apart digipack substituting for the full artwork. Thrift stores are a source I use for replacement jewel cases. They may not be new, but they usually run about 10 cents each. This is a good way to pick up replacement double disc cases too. If you find one with art for a disc you want, you can also increase your odds of getting a shipment by then changing your request to "disc only". |

Swap seems unconcerned with addressing this potential issue with promo art. Have others been getting discs with only minimal promotional art? If such CDs are common in the Swap pool and Swap will allow them, it will be a deal breaker for me. |

DVDs are thicker than CDs. Netflix also sends DVDs from regional centers so that they do not travel as far as some of our trades do through the postal system. I don't know about Blockbuster. |

I have the same exact issue. My Wish List has vanished and now says that I want 0 cds. I can only find items on wish list by searching for them. I am closer to panicking than RandyJ was because I wonder if I will recieve CDs from my Wish List that are entered into the system if the system thinks I don't want any cds. |

For the record, I went ahead and marked the disc as "good". I couldn't find anything on the site that would indicate to a shipper that they would not be allowed to send the disc. Still, I feel this is an issue that should be addressed by SwapaCD. I suspect that many members who want the art will not be pleased to recieve simple promo art. Someone from SwapaCD must be monitoring this thread as djtal said something or other that they felt needed to be censored. Can the censor address this undefined area in Swap's policy or pass this concern on to someone who can address it? |

Today I received a disc with promo artwork that is much simpler than the retail version's artwork. How does the new Swap policy that allows promos deal with artwork for those like me who request the art? I don't at all mind cuts in the spine, marks through the barcode, or stamps that indicate a disc was issued for promotional purposes. But, when the art is different than the retail version, such as is common with "white labels" that only give minimal information, I would rather not acquire the title. |
