"this recording is great! the cast is great! The orchestra is great! the only thing that's not great is nicky webster. She is only good. She sounds to young to be Dorothy. All though I still rescomend this cd. It sounds just like the London version (because it has the same orchestrations) I also recomend getting the London recording. Be carefull, not the highlites of the London cast, but the original London cast. The original has more songs on it. Duh! If you like stage versions of oz, these 2 cds are for you"

"This cast album to the hugely-successful Australian revival of THE WIZARD OF OZ is a great one. The show played to sell-out audiences in Sydney during the holiday season, and later in Melbourne. The revival was especially effective as a showcase for the talents of Nikki Webster (the little girl from the 2000 Olympics opening ceremony), and her performance as Dorothy is quite competent. Kane Alexander, Philip Gould and Doug Parkinson all fit the bill in their performances as the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion. Bert Newton plays both Professor Marvel and the Wizard, with Delia Hannah as Glinda and Pamela Rabe as the Wicked Witch.
This cast album was recorded live at several performances during the Sydney run (technicians spliced together the various `takes' so that both sets of children that played the Munchkins could appear). For the Melbourne run, Bert Newton was able to play opposite his wife Patti who came in to replace Delia Hannah as Glinda."
