"Another reason to own this latest release from Wesla Whitfield: "The Best Thing For You Would Be Me" was named Best Cabaret CD of 2002 by Music Critic Richard Dyer of the Boston Globe.High praise, and well deserved. Sample "Change Partners" and be left breathless. Pay attention to the very last bars of "There's No Business Like Show Business" for Whitfield's witty ad-libbing. Listen to "How Deep is the Ocean" and understand why Whitfield brought down the house when she performed this number at Carnegie Hall.Greensill's arrangements and the inspired selection of musicians including Gary Foster on reeds and John Wiitala on bass, make "The Best Thing For You" a most worthy addition to your collection."
One of my favorites, and i'm just 14 years old

"I love this cd, because I saw Wesla live and she was great and nice to me when I met her. She sings so cool and her peiano player Mike is awesome too, he's her husband. They are my favorite group, I like her even better than hilary Duff & Britney Spears. Go Wesla!!!"
From a repertoire stand point, this cd is an improvement

"You know this cd has shown me some true improvements in the repertoire performed over Weslias' previous cds. This tells me there still is a lot of hope when you talk about artists egos. An artists ego can only get so big before it explodes.I think for this project Weslia did a good job of expressing herself. Her voice was good and enjoyable. The band did not do a very good job of giving a good accompaniment. It seems like this band couldn't play a romantic chord if their life depended on it. They must be tone deaf. I think this band should be replaced.I am getting a little tired of people wanting to use the "best" label when it comes to artists. It seems like everyone wants to call every artist the "best". There are very few artists out there in my opinion that are what I would call the "best". Weslia and her band are definately not what I would call the "best". I'm here to tell you there are greater artists out there than these artists here.If you like a good repertoire buy this cd."
ROMANTIC

"This cd is so romantic(who really cares, roamnce isn't everything), this cd features jazz arrangemets, a charismatic voice, that rally communicates to audiences. Whitfield has the gift of choosing the right songs(not the ones you've heard a milion times), ones that aren't performed by everyone and thier uncle. Her arrangements are superb, and written out by her husband Mike Grinsell who also hapepns to be the finest jazz pianist that ever walked the afce of the earth. These two make music magic together(how ROMANTIC), this cd is well worth investing in if you have good taste in music and liek good jazz and great singing. A msut buy!!!"
