"This CD was recently featured on the WFIU Featured Classical Recordings podcast, so I though I should check it out, and I'm so glad I did. A wonderful collection of choral music by various composers including Bach, Palestrina and Vivaldi, among others, most of it is a capella with some notable exceptions (like the Hallelujah Chorus, arranged for brass) and the one thing they all have in common is that they are all settings of Gloria or Alleluia. The music is all upbeat without any somber pieces, all based on music of thanksgiving and happiness. Will brighten your day for sure.
There are lots of different groups represented in this collection, and they are all great. Special standouts are track 6, the Gloria from Capella Alamire and the tracks from Sarband. Worth it if you're into this kind of music, and if you're not, then it'd be worth it to give it a shot as an introduction!"
