Mostly standards, but very enjoyable

"The first Country superstar Christmas contained a balanced mix of standards and originals, while the second was filled mostly with originals. This third volume is dominated by standards, but they are very well done. There are only four originals here - the tracks by George Strait, Mark Wills, Alabama and Toby Keith, and they are all wonderful, although some of them can be found on Christmas albums by the individual singers.Alan Jackson opens the set with a cover of Burl Ives' Holly Jolly Christmas and Reba closes it with her traditional country version of Silent night. In between, there are many fine performances, including Alecia Elliott singing a lovely version of What child is this. There is no filler here - it's all great stuff. While this volume is less interesting than Volume 2 to Christmas music fans like me, it may be more suitable for the casual buyer looking for plenty of Christmas standards."

"Great music ! It's the only CD with the song 'Christmas Cookies' by George Strait.
