CD Reviews

An eclectic set

(4 out of 5 stars)

"A fascinating mix of relatively unknown cuts (unknown in the US, at least) by artists like Chris De Burgh, Cliff Richard, Slade, et.al. mixed with well-known classics, (Crosby's "White Christmas" etc.) Any collection this mixed up has to be fun and breaks away from the traditional "Christmas" recordings. Somewhere on these CD's you'll find some gems and even the failures are worth a listen at least one time. (This review refers to the 1993 collection which is almost exactly the same as the one listed here.)"
The CD title says it all...

"I bought this CD while I was living in England a number of years ago. When I moved there I owned no Christmas CDs and realized that as the holiday season rolled up, I was missing that part of my "home" in Canada. I bought this CD since it had a number of my favourites on it. Surprisingly, the entire CD is terrific and like other have said, it has become a favourite with family and friends since I have moved back to Canada. If you can find a copy of this album, pick it up...you will not be disappointed."
True to its name!

"Being English and living in the U.S., this takes me back to being a kid in England. My husband (also English)and I listen to this CD over and over again at xmas while putting up the tree and drinking eggnog (with Brandy of course!). Anyway, it is a must in your CD collection no matter where you come from. It has some great pop/rock tunes as well as old classics. You will not be disappointed. I don't think this is the edition that I have, but from the other reviews, it looks as good as the one I have. Enjoy!!"
