Simply beautiful!

"This is a collection of Russian religious chant by various 20th century composers -- some before the Revolution and some from the Glasnost/Perestroika period. Especially featured are Alexander Kastalski (d. 1926) and Nikolay Karetnikov (b. 1930). A capella; for male voices. No audience applause (thank heavens). Some absolutely stunning harmonies. The pieces are very different in terms of style and texture, but all very prayerful and poignant musically. ****"
