"Tony Bennett suffered the effects of the music world changing in the late sixties deciding to leave Columbia Records after doing a few lp's his heart wasn't in to...signing to MGM along with Sammy Davis Jr., Anthony Newley and Petula Clark was a good move at the time as it produced the extraordinary "The Good Thing's In Life", a vocal masterpiece arranged to perfection by Ralph Farnon who Tony cites as a favorite. "The Good Thing's In Life" written by Anthony Newley is a total anthem like "What Kind Of Fool Am I?" that would have been a huge hit in better musical times than the early seventies devoted to rock groups and singer/songwriters and sadly those with minimal vocal ability seemed to fare better. Filled with a great variety of songs, Mr. Bennett was never more in command in the recording studio giving performances featuring stunning vocal power and mesmerizing brilliance never heard before or since from the legendary singer...Tony's finest hour to be sure! Because Tony Bennett didn't explode sales wise at MGM there were only a few releases that so far have not seen release on Compact Disc...this "Import" release must have been the smallest pressing & personally have my doubts it ever happened! Hopefully someone will realize this awesome vocal masterpiece has been overlooked and make it available to a starving audience..."lost treasure" masterpiece needs to be released on CD!!!"
