"This soundtrack is just great. I was excited for this to come out. Bear is a great composer, I just love the themes he creates for each character. The songs feel like the characters. My favorite theme is Derek Reese's theme. I like them all though. I also really enjoy listening to Samson and Delilah. This is one of my favorite cd's now, so Good work bear. I just hope fox doesn't even think about canceling this show, it's epic."
Good Strong Score

"The score for the Sarah Connor Chronicles is one of my favorite. It really seems to have a strong place in the Terminator movie scores. Really the only thing that could make it better is for it to have more songs, but I guess you can't fit much more on it. Just can't wait till volume 2 comes out. I think the main theme that seems to be throughout the music is very moving and strong, Really fits the epic /terminator mood. Just wish the theme was a bit longer. But all in all, if you are a fan of the Terminator series, this is a must have."
Brilliant ...again

"Another kickass, knock-yr.-sox-off score from Bear McCreary. Again, we have both depth and breadth to savor and enjoy. Depth and breadth in terms of emotional and musical experience: the haunting, and the gut-grinding. This score took a good drama and made of it art. The arrangement of Samson and Delilah gave a kind of Biblical/Revelations overtone to the whole--not just the album but the series. Haunting. The song, "Ain't we Famous," otherwise lost in the background of a scene here shines forth in all its rock-on exuberance.
TSCC is a great series gifted with the talents of many great musicians and the guiding work and eye and heart of the composer who never fails to astound and reward. Bravo, Bear!"
Score! for Bear McCreary

"This soundtrack is just superb. At first, I thought Bear might have a difficult time separating his music for Terminator from Battlestar Galactica. And, while there are certain moments that are reminiscent of BSG, Bear did a fantastic job creating a fresh score.
For those not familiar with Bear's work, he has the unique ability to produce a score for SciFi that is truly epic yet not overly majestic (like Star Trek or Star Wars). Instead, his music has a more tribal, earthy flair. Instead of elevated tones, Bear's music is warm and even subtle (similar at times to Gladiator and Brave Heart, other times resembling the Last of the Mohicans or even some of Enya's work). Bear has brought this quality into this soundtrack and blended it seamlessly with the show itself.
Another feature of this soundtrack that I love is that the main characters have their own distinct melodies. Number 3 ("Sarah Connor's Theme") is one of my favorite tracks on the whole CD! In this soundtrack particularly Bear did a great job with composing music for the robots themselves; for instance, track 5 just sounds like the type of music a robot would enjoy!
Pros:
- Great earthy and tribal tones
- Captures the essence of the terminators without sounding too harsh or soft
- Brings a seriousness and depth to the show that it would otherwise lack
Cons:
- Too many actual "singing" songs on the track (like tracks 1 & 9, my least favorite of the soundtrack)
Overall, a 5-star album with little drawback that I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes Terminator: Sarah Connor or BSG!
(Rock on, Bear!)"
