Synopsis

Album Description
Rainbow Train - A Parents' Choice 2002 Approved Award Winner. Hop on the Rainbow Train! - a wonderful sequence of children's music through the seven colors of the rainbow. This captivating rainbow suite of sweet songs originates from Talking Hands Talking Feet music and dance education workshops for children. These songs are chock full of wholesome vitamins and values, sprinkled with a lot of love and respect for the inner life of children. The Rainbow Train is multi-layered education. The music and lyrics correspond with the natures of the seven colors of the rainbow; there's a rich palette of songs within the domain of each color; and the rainbow sequence itself is a profound and compelling education. Some of the territories traveled through are: the human body, cycles of life, working together, action songs, memory songs and a thank you song. Talking Hands Talking Feet music and dance education is designed with the workings, wonder and ways of the developing human child in mind.

CD Reviews

REDISCOVER CHILDLIKE AWE & WONDER!
Jacob Shefa | Palm Desert, CA United States | 06/05/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The Rainbow Train CD conducted my four-year old son into his first musical discoveries of the rainbow in a way that was fun, exciting and joyful. The songs have a beguiling simplicity that, upon repeated listenings (and with small children, you can bet you'll be traveling through this rainbow again and again and again)reveal more depth. Some are quite haunting in their simple and wise beauty. Really, this music is for the child in all of us. I dare you not to sing along!"
SING IT OUT WITH SPIRIT
Peg Simon | Seattle, WA (USA) | 09/03/2002

"And you will be, too, singing along with spirit, once you listen to the words and feel the happy rhythms! I thought I'd just enjoy it once or twice, but to my amazement I put it on all the time. It lights up the house with happiness, and there's warm reflective tunes as well. The poet in me says it's a celebration of being alive on the planet, and truly it's a child's discovery journey of everything from the seasons to the magic of planting a seed in the ground, to the wonder of discovering yourself. Children will love the train theme throughout (and maybe drive you nuts singing "Chugga Chugga Choo Choo,") but if you're an adult, you owe it to yourself to listen to "Born on a Mountain" or "Sparks." I've got shivers just remembering those haunting sounds."
