"When Take 6 said they were returning to their roots, I immediately made a mental reference to the first album "Take 6". I was slightly taken aback when that is not what I recieved. But, that is not neccessarly a bad thing. I have learned to listen to music with a whole new set of ears - taking the music as it is. For a group to remain stagnant in the waters of simplicity would mean the end of that group. But, Take 6 has demonstrated a wonderful knack of venturing into new territories and adapting beautifully. They have shown their adaptibility on this release. The balance is not quite as good as on the release "Join The Band", but this is a masterpiece all its own. My favorite song on the album is "Evermore". It reminds me of a tune that might be written by Michael Franks, the master of expressiveness. My next favorite song is "Nothing But Love". I love the groove of this song. It reminds me of the "old" Take 6. The vamp is to die for. I hope you too can learn, as I have, how to take music at face value, not comparing it with any other. You will find that this is a Masterpiece All Its Own."

"I love acappella and have all of Take 6's CD's.So Cool is my favorite of them all. The group not only has tight, untouchable harmony and soul, but they also sing of the love of God. I listen to the CD just about everyday."

"in response to mr leahey from texas, don't give up on this cd yet. the first time i heard it, i thought it was good, but not great. but the more i've listened to it the more i like it. the first time i heard "sonshine", i thought, "that was boring." but the more i've played it, i come to love and appreciate it's beauty. i draw so much serenity from it. i usually play it when i'm driving home during rush hour. with that song and "a few more miles" playing, i don't even mind the idiot drivers. i've notice that many of the reviews compare all of take 6's cd's to the first one. i admit i've done it also. but we need to realize that none will ever compare to that first cd because at that time it was so fresh and innovative."
A Truly Masterful Recording

"So Cool, the latest release from Take 6, could very well be their finest effort yet. Unfortunately, these extremely gifted forerunners to many of today's popular artists in both gospel and R&B, seem hard-pressed to find the proper airplay they so richly deserve. With songs like So Cool, Sonshine and If You Only Knew, the a capella sound has been carried to another level. My two young sons take great delight in the South African stylings of Fly Away. My personal favorite, Nothin' But Love, ranks up there with some of the best contemporary gospel around. While the melodic, A Few More Miles, will encourage all sincere believers that heaven is just before us. A must buy for all true music lovers."
The boys are back in harmony

"As a longterm fan of Take 6 (and a capella music), I was disappointed by their previous effort. It is so good to hear them back to their old form, making beautiful music with intricate harmonies, uncluttered by instruments. They've combined their old singing style with more mature songwriting to create a CD that is entertaining and, at times, amazing. Even the tracks that use instrumental backing are arranged to showcase their unique "Take 6 sound." I was almost ready to give up on this group, but thanks to "So Cool," I'm a born-again fan!"
