Sweet lives...

"This is another inspiring moment from Andy Scott. Beautiful vocal melodies, skillful guitar playing and great songs. A few sappy spots but the vocals will pull you through. Just like the "A" album it stumbles a few times but its a really good listen all around.Even the later Brian Connelly stuff and the Trio stuff was more mellow and less agressive. So if your a long time fan you should have no problem sitting back and enjoying this. Mr. Scott was always a big part of the Sweet sound and songwriting also his lead vocals were featured on many tracks in the Sweet catalogue. If your a Sweet fan you are probally a hopeless romantic so get a bottle of wine and put this cd on.Then after your drunk listen to some old Sweet and bust the place up!"
Too good to be true!

"This cd is a step away from what you think when you think "the Sweet". But, the music is sublime; the talents displayed here are frozen in time as things changed right after the cd came out.
If you love the Sweet get this cd!
"The Sweetlife, Airheads, Do It All Over Again, Everybody Wants To Be Someone", just a few of the jewels you'll find within."

"Not bad for only a 1/4 of the original Sweet. As a devoted Sweet fan it's great to see their name continue and this cd does a good job of keeping some of the old Sweet traits alive. You shouldn't expect it to be the same or close to the old stuff. The songs have that trademark bubblegum sound, but with a 90's edge to them. Andy Scott has enough talent to carry this off so I would recommend it. Now if we can only get Steve Priest and Andy Scott to record a new cd together how wonderful that would be, even if they still want to perform live separately!"
Is the Delp, Goodreau, Bon Jovi, and McCartney?

"Holy Cow. That is all I can say. I got the Sweet DVD from Netflix and saw some of the stuff from this CD so I decided to revisit a band I loved as a hormone-riddle youth.
Whoa! This is good stuff. If you are a big Sweet fan you might be disappointed becasue it seems they shot for the sounds of a few other bands...........and hit the bullseye. If you like Boston but are not obsessed with them, then you will love about 3-4 of the tracks. Listen to the samples and figure it out for yourself!
Then there is Airheads!............sound just like something the Beatles would have written and passed along to some up and coming band a la All the Young Dudes. this is the only poppy-sounding tune on the CD, but it is a good poppy.
Never Say Forever will probably remind you of Bon Jovi with better harmonies and a little of the old Sweet comes poking through.
Everybody.... has a taste of speed metal and reminds me a little of Judas Priest or Dio. Same can be said for Neon if you stretch it. Neon might also remind you of Bon Jovi.
This is my first review and probably not holding to form with people that rate a lot of stuff. But take it this way......I like this one enough to bother telling others about it.
If you can, you should order "The Sweet: Here and Now" to see their path and listed in on the new stuff from this CD.
I hope they will put out some more stuff, they are back on track. If you like Boston, check out the band "return to Zero" and "RTZ". I think Brad Delp and another original Boston member are in that band and the music is good but not great. But a must have if you love Boston.
