Synopsis

Album Description
After an array of million sellers like Ballroom Blitz, Little Willy, and Fox On The Run, Sweet return with eleven new sensational tracks from Andy Scott, Steve Grant, Jeff Brown and Bruce Bisland. In the tradition of albums like "Desolation Boulevard" and "Level Headed", this latest effort "Sweetlife" continues this platinum legacy with superlative tracks like their overseas hit "Do It All Over Again" and the title track "Sweetlife". Still going strong on tour overseas, Andy Scott and Co. still find the time to write and record some very memorable tunes, "Never Say Forever" is a great example of the hit making formula this band in known for. With skillful piano breaks, acoustic guitars, and loud banging drums and heavy guitar leads, this track is one of those rare moments in time for a bands' career. "Leap Of Faith" continues the flow of this strong effort with more of the musical elements fans know to look for in a Sweet album. Andy Scott has again outdone himself with his amazing lead vocal and guitar stylings on this track. "Sweetlife" from the band simply known as Sweet is a triumphant return from these platinum rockers. Eleven great new entries into the amazing journal of the band that continues to rock the world into the 2000's. "Sweetlife" indeed!

CD Reviews

Sweet lives...

"This is another inspiring moment from Andy Scott. Beautiful vocal melodies, skillful guitar playing and great songs. A few sappy spots but the vocals will pull you through. Just like the "A" album it stumbles a few times but its a really good listen all around.Even the later Brian Connelly stuff and the Trio stuff was more mellow and less agressive. So if your a long time fan you should have no problem sitting back and enjoying this. Mr. Scott was always a big part of the Sweet sound and songwriting also his lead vocals were featured on many tracks in the Sweet catalogue. If your a Sweet fan you are probally a hopeless romantic so get a bottle of wine and put this cd on.Then after your drunk listen to some old Sweet and bust the place up!"
Too good to be true!

"This cd is a step away from what you think when you think "the Sweet". But, the music is sublime; the talents displayed here are frozen in time as things changed right after the cd came out.

If you love the Sweet get this cd!

"The Sweetlife, Airheads, Do It All Over Again, Everybody Wants To Be Someone", just a few of the jewels you'll find within."

"Not bad for only a 1/4 of the original Sweet. As a devoted Sweet fan it's great to see their name continue and this cd does a good job of keeping some of the old Sweet traits alive. You shouldn't expect it to be the same or close to the old stuff. The songs have that trademark bubblegum sound, but with a 90's edge to them. Andy Scott has enough talent to carry this off so I would recommend it. Now if we can only get Steve Priest and Andy Scott to record a new cd together how wonderful that would be, even if they still want to perform live separately!"
