Synopsis
Album Description Susan's second recording for children and their families received a Parents' Choice Gold Award and has been called "an album full of delightful songs" by Nancy Maes in the Chicago Tribune (2/20/97). Combining the old with the new, Susan's original songs include "the Ice Cream Truck Song," "What Is Peace to You?", and "Mommy, Be My Baby," about role reversal between a toddler and her mom. Traditional tunes include a rousing version of "If I Had a Hammer," the cowboy lullabye "Home on the Range," and the classic "Shortnin' Bread." This is a recording that will have kids, parents and grandparents singing and dancing along. |
CD ReviewsFabulous children's music 02/05/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "Susan Salidor has a superb voice and an extraordinary spirit reflected in her music. Her recordings for children are among the few in the area that parents and children alike can enjoy, even with the repetetive play that parents can expect from their children. And believe me, your kids will want to hear this over and over." One of the finest children's recordings I have ever heard 11/07/1998 (5 out of 5 stars) "Susan Salidor: By Heart is one of the finest children's recordings I have ever heard. Her original material is great. The opening song, "My Little Red Harp" Is quick and infectious, while her song "My father's song" is a gentle ode to her father and the "old songs" he sings. My favorite song, however, is the old classic "Home on the Range". I enjoy listening to it, and it gives me a feeling of my days a a five year old cowboy out in the suburbs. The entire album is a mixture of classic songs such as "If I had a Hammer" and "Shortnin' Bread" with Ms. Salidor originals, including "The Ice Cream Truck Song." I highly reccommend this cd for any child."
