"First, let's establish: this performer is Suede, a wonderful lady from Massachusetts who has the only legal right to use the trademarked moniker "Suede." Second, this album is proof positive that real magic can be worked with a piano, double bass, and a performer who really knows how to put over a song. The title song, written by pianist David Pearl, is a gem, and Suede has made the song her own. Recorded live in Virginia, the album highlights Suede's way with a song and an audience, including tunes by Janis Ian, Rogers and Hart, Harold Arlen, and Van Morrison. From the sly innuendos of "Built for Comfort" to the soulful "(Do You Know What It means) To Miss New Orleans," Suede makes it all sound so easy and unrehearsed, as though she got together with Pearl and bassist Max Murray to play and sing for some friends. The best experience is seeing Suede in concert; the second best is listening to this album. Highly recommended."

"
My Dad was a jazz piano player in the 1950's and 1960's
and I grew up around some of the great jazz giants.
Seeing Suede live and hearing her incredible scatting
definitely brings me back to the great talent from years ago!

"We heard Suede sing in person and we were blown away. What a voice. We have all her other cds and were thrilled when "On The Day We Met" came out. Her range, choice of material and just generally fabulous talent really show. We have to survive on cds alone, because she hasn't been back to the West Coast lately. Come back and visit soon."
A disc of rare perfection

"I have had this disc for a year and still play it several times a week. Suede's other two discs are excellent. This one surpasses them by a mile. The songs range from playful to heartbreaking, and every one is perfect. Suede also provides trumpet and guitar solos on several cuts. Anyone who has had the good fortune to see her live must own this CD. Anyone who is a stranger to Suede and her music owes to him-or her-self to check out this wonderful performer."

"Suede's crystal clear voice
and amazing range blend smoothly with David Pearl on
piano and Max Murray on bass. If you get a chance to
go to a live show grab it, as they are phenomenal!"
