"This is a CD that will be a wonderful surprise to many Patti Page fans as it contains 7 unreleased recordings she made for Columbia in the 60s.
Patti's rendition of "Theme From a Summer Place" is magnificent as are her recordings of "We'll Be Together (bossa nova style), "Young and In Love" and "Texas Leather and Mexican Lace". If the melody of "Young and In Love" sounds familiar, it is the same melody as Nana Mouskouri's "Over and Over". "Texas and Mexican" has a great Tex-Mex sound much like that of Johnny Cash's "Matador" and "Ring of Fire".
Patti fans will also enjoy the rerecording of one of her early 50s GOLD records "Would I Love You". All in all this is one of the very best releases of Patti material from the Columbia vaults. Although single release numbers are given, some of them are inaccurate. Also, "Detour" was never released as a single. I eagerly await more of Patti's Columbia singles on CD.
Get it."
I can't stop listening to this album !!!

"I love Patti Page. Period. She's absolutely wonderful; and whenever she performs she still gives blood to make her performance both memorable and very special. This CD gives us a total of twenty-two tracks despite the fact that it carries the name "Stand By Your Man + 13 Bonus Tracks." The extra tracks are all our gain, too! The quality of the sound couldn't be better and that artwork is very tastefully done.
"Music And Memories" starts the CD with a beautiful ballad; Patti's front and center and the lush musical arrangement sounds absolutely wonderful. Patti is in her natural element; she never sings a superfluous note and her energy shows through quite clearly. "Stand By Your Man" is another blockbuster number that Patti infuses with so much power that I find this tune to be completely irresistible; "Stand By Your Man" is clearly a major highlight of this album. "A Faded Summer Love" makes good use of the strings at just the right times during the song; and I really like "All The Time." "All The Time" is a sweet ballad that charms me with its beauty as Patti sings of her love for her man. Great!
"Almost Persuaded" is a great example of just how well Patti Page can handle a country song; she makes it sound better than just about any other country singer ever could. The guitar work fits in just right with the rest of the musical arrangement and "Almost Persuaded" is a strong number. "Can't Help Falling In Love" gets the royal treatment from Patti; she makes it sound like a cross between country and traditional pop with a `60s adult contemporary arrangement. Patti also does a splendid job when she sings "The End Of The World." I first heard this sung by Skeeter Davis; but Patti does great justice to this ballad as well. What a torch song!
"It's The World Outside" has a distinctive country flavor; and there's another gem when Patti sings "Pretty Bluebird." Patti practically outdoes even herself on "The Theme From `A Summer Place;'" this number is nothing short of sublime. Patty's rendition is so good that I consider this to be THE definitive rendition of this ballad. "I Didn't Read The Letter" tells of a woman whose man leaves her for another; this song is done in very good taste. "We'll Be Together" has some excellent percussion as Patti sings this faultlessly; and listen for "Would I Love You -Love You, Love You." What a ballad!
"Young And In Love" is another charmer without a doubt; and the album ends so well with Patti Page performing "Texas Leather And Mexican Lace." This ballad has a great sound and it leaves you wanting more.
Patti Page never let her fans down; and this CD is certainly no exception. I highly recommend this album for her fans; and people who like country or even adult contemporary music from the 1960s will want this album.
Great job, Patti! We love you!

"Patti Page does not need vocal acrobatics to sound good. Her tone of voice is warm and soothing. This CD makes me want to own all her Columbia singles on CD. Perhaps Collectables can release it?"
