"This album would add nothing to a devoted Sarah Vaughan listener. Booklet provides a brief bio about the artist.
For the one who wants to have a bit more about the recordings it's only added that these are the ochestra recordings which belongs to a period in between 1949 to 1953 leaded by Joe Lipmann (track 1) Norman Heyden (track 7), Paul Weston (track 11) and Percy Faith (track 9 and 16). Rest 15 of the 20 songs has only the date of recording with a note "no detailed information available" nearby.
I would not even recommend the album for an entrance to Vaughans musical universe as i am afraid to give a wrong impression of "is that what impressed so many ppl so deeply?"
As well known Sarah Vaughan's life of performances had ups and downs and i believe this album is a collection of her not very brilliant performances.
The ones looking for Sarah's real magic i would reccomend the jazz listener the following album titles to check :
Sarah + 2
Sarah Vaughan's Finest Hour
At Mister Kelly's
How Long Has This Been Going On?"
