"I just saw this tenor in a Metropolitan Opera production of Lucia di Lammermon and he was breathtaking. His voice was clear, his intonation and pitch were the stuff of masters and I am buying anything with him in it. This will be the first."
Good tenor!

"This is probably the best tenor around right now. I saw him in the Lucia HD Met transmission and was impressed, so I bought this and really enjoyed it. I think he was better live, but this cd is worth getting if you like him. He's not in the Pavarotti league, but he is still a very good tenor."
Great tenor

"Piotyr Beczala is one of the finest technically-proficient tenors of his generation. This is an excellent portrayal of his multi-faceted talent!"
Reminds me of Gedda

"He has a Gedda type brilliance in the high notes, but a more lush quality in the middle & low notes. He sounds totally EXCITING!!! We've had some nice tenors in the past 40 years, but no Geddas, Del Monacos, or Corellis. Nothing 'over the top' until now. Another 'over the top' tenor is Sergey Romanovsky but I can only find him on Youtube. I will be seeing Beczala in Boheme with the marvelous Anja Harteros.

Great New Tenor

"Piotr Beczala is a new shinning star in the opera world. Posses a beautiful voice which reminds me sometimes of that of Alfredo Krauss and Nicolai Gedda. His high Cs are robust and the voice maintains all throughout a velvet tone. Beczala follows now in the early years of the XXI Century on the footstep of his fellow country man Jean de Reszke the famous Polish tenor considered as the greatest when Caruso started at the Met in the early XX Century. I enjoyed a lot this recording."
