""She's one of the best friends a song ever had," said the inscription on an award that the ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) gave Rosemary Clooney. Truer words were never written. This wonderful CD has 25 tracks of Ms. Clooney's songs from the 1952-54 period. Four of the songs, "South Rampart Street Parade," "Chicago Style," "It's Only A Paper Moon," and a medley of "These Foolish Things," "We Just Couldn't Say Goodbye," and "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To," are with Bing Crosby, her co-star in the 1954 movie "White Christmas." Other memorable tracks include "You Make Me Feel So Young," "My Old Flame," "Tenderly," and "Blues In The Night."The Boston Herald called Ms. Clooney "diva without artifice" in their obituary of this unforgettable jazz/pop singer. Her music remains with us, and this album is one of her best compilations.
