"this recording not only shows the vast space the organ of the Riverside Church occupies, but how well the organ fills the room! Since accoustical changes to the ceiling and walls in the nave, the sound is thrilling! The organ never sounded better and the organist is par excellence!! The organ is re-visited by 25 year former organist, Dr. Frederick Swann, who by any standards is one of the best organists in the country! Organ & organist seem at home with each other & the sounds that come forth are pure gold. Repitoire choices are not the usual mundane, 'same old' 'same old', but fresh approaches of not so familiar works as well as one or two traditional favorites. This recording is a must have for those that like a great organist playing a great organ!"
"New" Riverside a revelation!

""Riverside Revisited" has to be one of the finest Organ recordings ever made. The program is not the usual "same old same old" and the recorded sound of Riversides' Aeolian-Skinner is astounding. The acoustics at New York City's Riverside Church were re-done in 1996 and former organist Swann was invited back for a series of concerts for the AGO Convention in NY in 1997.I have a medium sized reproduction system of mid-line cost and the sound of the organ makes the floor rumble. You can feel the sound of the 32' and 64' stops. The recording is exceptionally clear enabling one to hear the interior lines of each piece. The program is always interesting because of Swann's interpretations and sound registration. Any fan of the pipe organ must purchase this album. It puts many European recordings and artists, as well as most American organists in the shade."
Sounds of splendor!

"Yet another marvellous gem of one of the greatest organists in the world. The "maesto é serioso" repetoire Dr. Swann has chosen will appeal to many people, organlovers and layman alike. I'm especialy very happy that Swann decided to perform a work of Robert Hebble, the rare-heared organcomposition genius.
The work of Hebble (Fanatasia on Stained Glass) is a work that allows the organ to show much of its caleidoscopic character, thundering bombarde, ethereal strings and celestes, elegant solo stops, triumphant chamades, etc. The recording is crystal clear, better than much other recordings from Riverside I've heared."
