"Most of this CD is a remastered compilation of songs from actress Rhonda Fleming's Columbia album of yesteryears. She sings romantic ballads in a straight-forward, easy manner, using her clear, warm voice
lo lull any listener into an hour or so of total relaxation. Included is a well-renditioned Gershwin medley
(making one wish there were a recording of her one-woman Porter/Berlin concert at the Hollywood Bowl).
There are two nostalgia numbers from "A Connecticutt Yankee," one with Bing Crosby. Her "religious" songs (done with Jane Russell, Connie Haynes, Beryl Davis) are more pop than religious. The snappy "42nd Street" makes one wish her agent had gotten her an M-G-M contract instead of Paramount. Miss Fleming is
a beautiful woman with a beguiling voice. Here's hoping that somewhere, there's an archive with more
of her musical numbers."
