Great deal for the money!

(5 out of 5 stars)
"This 3-CD Australian import is about the best deal you can get on Ray Conniff music. The sound quality is not perfect but the quantity more than makes up for it.The set samples most of the albums Conniff recorded from 1956 through 1973. Much of the music is presented chronologically, at least until you get to the third disc. At times, this can be annoying so you might want to hit the "random" button on your CD player. What is interesting about this set is that it goes deeper into the albums than most compilations. For example, "Playground In My Mind" was chosen instead of the hit title song from the album HARMONY.It is a shame that Sony Australia didn't get copies of the original tapes from Sony New York. At times, the sound quality suffers. Mono recordings were used instead of stereo on many tracks. The packaging doesn't include any photos of Conniff but the liner notes are good (although Ray's work from 1974 through 2000 is almost completely overlooked). If you are new to Conniff give this set a try. You can sample 65 songs (including 5 bonus Christmas tracks from Ray's first Christmas album) at a low price. If you like what you hear, buy the complete albums on CD from the USA."

"Outstanding selection of music, as it provides plently of variety. However, the mixing of mono and stereo tracks will make you wonder if your stereo system is malfunctioning. Still, put these CDs into your dashboard and enjoy the music for a couple hundred miles. Worth the price for sure."
