"This "two-fer" couples two of the very best examples of the "New Conniff" sound of the seventies and early eighties that provided masterful rearrangements of popular hits of the time. Following on the heels of the breakthrough Conniff LP, "Theme From the Godfather...," "I Can See Clearly Now" was a new classic for Conniff. It firmly established the "sound," and other highly successful, and eminently listenable LPs followed. As a single continually played on radios across the world, "Harmony" was a logical partner for this reissue. These two CDs reflect Conniff "as good as it gets!""
Conniff does it again!!

"An uptempo CD collection of Ray Conniff's finest is found in this set from the 1970's. His own version of "Harmony" is a delight to listen.Ray and the singers did a splendid job in this collection of familiar tunes that all of us enjoyed back then!"
Enjoyable

"By the time Ray Conniff recorded these albums, his brass and wah wah chorus conceptions had given way to a vocal sound that was less original and more dominated by his chorus singing the lyrics. So, if you're attracted by classic Conniff albums like S'Marvelous from 1957 and Somewhere My Love from 1966, this CD may prove a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, Conniff remained a smooth arranger and an excellent conductor, virtues that this CD brings to the fore. The title track on Harmony is probably the best cut on the CD, with a fuller, busier sound than the other numbers. The title track on I Can See Clearly Now is a vivid demonstration of a how a chorus, when properly led, can sound hip. Ben is a touchingly delicate track, and Clair features a contribution from Ray's then infant daughter. This CD is not essential Conniff, but it certainly provides pleasant listening in its own right."
