"People will listen to this and wonder why the Platters were such a success in the l950's-early 60's. With many groups calling themselves "The Platters", this is a great rip-off for people who think they are buying the real thing. Too bad all "Platters" albums aren't required to certify that the songs are by the original members!"
"not the original group ~ but still entertaining"

"Don't be confused with this release ~ "THE VERY BEST OF THE PLATTERS 1966-1969", featuring Herb Reed, David Lynch, Sandra Dawn, Sonny Turner and Nate Nelson ~ all not the original members from the '50s ~ but this has the same R&B, Doo Wop and distinctive style that won them critical acclaim in the past.Once again, the stand outs ~ "WASHED ASHORE (ON A LONELY ISLAND IN THE SEA)" ~ "LOVE MUST GO ON" both have that recognizable sound ~ "SWEET SWEET LOVIN'" returning to their musical roots ~ "DON'T HEAR, SPEAK, SEE NO EVIL" perfect in soulful harmony with a lyrical message ~ "I LOVE YOU YES I DO", probably brings back memories of the original Platters, simply a beautiful ballad.Want to thank ~ Cary E. Mansfield (producer) ~ and Varese Sarabande in taking us back on a musical journey to the mid to late '60s, one of most popular groups of two decades ~ THE PLATTERS!Total Time: 36:03 on 14 Tracks...Varese Sarabande VSD-5774...(1997)"
