"Clark had already been weaning herself away from the influence of "Downtown" composer Tony Hatch and his songwriting partner (and then-wife) Jackie Trent, responsible for most of her U.S. hits, when she went into the studio to record this mini-masterpiece. Two Beatles' hits - "Hey Jude" and "The Fool on the Hill" - are given spectacular arrangements and are dramatically delivered by Clark, who made the latter a staple of her concert performances for a number of years. The Oscar-nominated "Fill the World with Love" (from her film "Goodbye, Mr. Chips"), a bouncy cover of the Turtles' hit "Happy Together", her single release "No One Better Than You", and the self-penned (under the pseudonym Al Grant) "Things Bright and Beautiful" are among the highlights of this 11-track set. It sounds as stunning as Clark looks on the cover."
