What's the point of this?

"This recording has been generally available for almost 54 years since it was recorded in 1946 and included within the RCA Victor Musical Smart Set titled "Perry Como Sings Merry Christmas Music". It has been released on every possible format from 78 RPM shellac record to compact disc, on 10" and 12" RCA Victor LPs in the mid 50s, on RCA Camden in the early 60s, re-released in the 70s, and remastered for CD in the late 80s. The current CD of "Merry Christmas Music" with 7 of the original 1946 songs, including this one and 8 more, sells for almost the same as this one song single. Can anyone explain this obvious folly? And, as if to add to the rediculous, BMG has release another single song CD for "Silent Night" from the same Christmas compilation."
