"The sound quality of this CD is superb. And, every tune is wonderful. Especially, I'm very impressed by "It's A Lovely Day Today" because Perry can sing so lightheartedly! I've listened to "I Wanna Go Home With You" before, but this CD's "I Wanna Go Home" seems to be another take. Their lines are slightly different. I like very merry "Noodlin' Rag", too! After listening to this CD, I recognized his versatility in singing again. Then, I found that the combination of Perry Como and The Fontane Sisters makes very harmonious sounds. This combination reminds me of Bing Crosby and Andrews Sisters. Bing and Andrews Sisters made a lot of records, so I wonder why Perry and Fontane Sisters didn't do so. Anyway, this CD is one of the best CDs of Perry Como."
This is a unique CD

"I have been looking for a copy of "You're Just in Love" by Perry and the Fontane Sisters that I could afford for several years. I was delighted when this CD was finally cut. This is a great Berlin song done in an outstanding manner. There are scores of other Perry CD's but this is the only one with this song. You also get some other really good songs ie "Play Me a Hurtin Tune", "Rollin Stone". Too bad that this is the only CD with the Fontane sisters on it. They sing beautifully. Perry aint bad either."
What came first? Was it the voice or the Spirit.

"The sounds on this album place you in a time of integrity and sincereity. Somehow, Perry can lift your heart with a song called "Play me a Hurtin Tune", and He certainly continues with selections such as "I wanna go Home with You" and Hoop-Dee-Do".
Fans of Mr. C. that are used to hearing this wondeful voice off single and L.P. records, will notice the recording quality of this album. This is a sample of why Perry Como had such staying power as a Star. Perry displays not only the talent to sing but a tone and quality of voice that is simply beautiful."
Fine collection of hits by Perry Como and The Fontane Sister

"Perry Como recorded some of his most beautiful songs with the highly talented Fontane Sisters. The recordings on this disc give us a fine sampling of the singularly beautiful artistry of Perry Como with The Fontane Sisters at his side.
The track set begins with "Dreamer's Holiday." The horns signal the beginning of this number; Perry was never in better form! When The Fontane Sisters come in they provide the perfect accompaniment for Perry's awesome vocals! The Fontane Sisters harmonize very, very well. "'A' You're Adorable" gives us another romantic ballad; between Perry Como and The Fontane Sisters this number takes flight and charms me with its beauty. I predict that you will enjoy "'A' You're Adorable" very, very much.
"You're Just In Love" starts with Perry singing with all his heart and soul; Perry's voice is truly a musical instrument! The Fontane Sisters bolster "You're Just In Love;" and the musical arrangement couldn't be better! "To Know You (Is To Love You)" sports a great arrangement for piano and horns; Perry sings this to perfection and The Fontane Sisters were never in better form! When Perry and The Fontane Sisters enter into the part of this track that features their duet, they infuse this number with so much electricity that in their competent hands this ballad is all their own--they're THAT good.
"Play Me A Hurtin' Tune" features Perry once again harmonizing with The Fontane Sisters; they deliver this number with panache and a type of passion I rarely experience. The percussion works well for "Play Me A Hurtin' Tune," too. "Hoop-Dee-Doo" certainly gives us a sample of a very light hearted polka tune; although this type of number wasn't Perry's favorite he delivers the number very well. The Fontane Sisters add a lot to "Hoop-Dee-Doo" with their magnificent talent. In addition, "Hush Little Darling" showcases Perry Como and The Fontane Sisters performing a country tune with all their hearts and souls. Great!
The liner notes feature an informative essay by George Townsend. We get the song credits and the recording dates, too. The artwork impresses me.
Perry Como sang so well and he deserves much more recognition than he gets. His work with The Fontane Sisters shows us his fine ability to work with a top notch, five star sister act.
Bravo!

"This CD brings together 14 songs that were recorded by Perry Como and The Fontane Sisters during their 5 year association from the late 1940's to the early 1950's. The CD was released in 2001 as part of the series of compilations celebrating the 100th Anniversary of RCA Victor records.
George Townsend has done an excellent job of compiling, sequencing and writing liner notes for this exceptional CD release. The sources are Release Master Tapes which have been digitally remastered to a very good standard.
This CD represents very good value for money and is the best example of the collected works of Perry Como and The Fontane Sisters available to date. The 2 CD Set from Jasmine, released in 2006 titled "One More Time" includes all of these recordings and more of Perry and The Fontane's together. However, the sources and mastering are suspicious. They are understood to be mp3's and many of the songs simply lifted from this CD release without any credit or compensation to the original source and engineering. When questioned about this, Jasmine declined to answer. Caveat Emptor! (Buyer Beware!)
This is the one to get; avoid the 2 CD Release from Jasmine!"
