"When I was about 12 years old, I first heard this stunning recording of "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's "Messiah", which was played on reel-to-reel tape player....and it was pure heaven. I had no idea who played that unbelievable version of "Hallelujah Chorus" until I found out on Amazon website that it was performed by Percy Faith and his symphony orchestra. I thought it was Leonard Bernstein or Eugene Ormandy doing this piece, but Percy Faith's orchestral version of "Hallelujah Chorus" sounded beautiful, even without a choir. Overall, I love that Percy Faith's rendition of "Hallelujah Chorus" very much, and I will always keep on listening to that piece over and over again for many more years to come."

"This music captures Christmas. Sometimes the feel is more like Silent Night, sometimes more like Joy to the World, but always defining what Christmas is through the language of instruments. I wish it were more readily available."
Note to Sony..... Please Rerelease!!!

"Discontinued almost as fast as it was issued, the Music Of Christmas, Vol. 2 is an engaging, light, melodic collection of holiday music. The best-known carols are available on his first Music of Christmas cd. This disc is devoted to relatively lesser-known songs, or at least songs that aren't performed quite as frequently. Most of the tracks are more historical carols that have been sung down the centuries.
This rare CD is as good or possibly better than "The Music of Christmas". I have done some research and if you must have some of the tracks you can find them on a cd called "Christmas Celebration"(check my reviews). They are; I Saw Three Ships,We Three Kings of Orient Are,Angels From the Realms of Glory and Carol of the Bells. These tracks are not available on any other cd as far as I know. Truly an inspiring release that to many is the standard Christmas sound from the sixties. If Percy Faith is not part of your Christmas CD collection, believe me, Your missing something special."
