Disappointing

"Prepare yourself; the first six tracks are not in stereo.Percy Faith re-recorded the song Baubles, Bangles and Beads in stereo, and that version is wonderful! The original was stale and flat by comparison. I was very disappointed when the CD was played, and the monophonic version lacked the quality, bass transients, and depth of the stereo version by this artist."

"Percy Faith was a brilliant musician who had a chameleon like ability to adapt to whatever musical era he found himself in. In addition to being a superb arranger of popular tunes, he was an excellent condutor. The playing on all these selections is an absolute delight. I can't think of a better place to begin your exploration of Percy Faith's oeuvre. After you've done this, you no doubt will want to acquire the CDs of the complete albums of his that have been reissued. One caveat: There is what sounds like a bad splice on "Show Me" from "My Fair Lady." Otherwise, the sound holds up very well, even on the monaural selections dating back to the early '50's. The big hit, of course, is the "Theme from 'A Summer's Place,'" but everything on this disc is enticing."
