"If Nana Mouskouri NEVER had made another album, this would guarantee her a home in my music collection FOREVER!
Nana has a very special voice...the only other that I can think of like hers is that of Joan Baez...they are both clear, crystaline, and somehow "perfect voices" for warming your heart.
I had this album years ago on LP, and searched long and hard for it on cd, finally special ordering it from Europe from a now defunct classical shop in Washington DC back in the 90's. I see now, luckily, it is available here on Amazon. Do yourself a GREAT favor, mark it now on your Wish List, or just go ahead and Order It, before something happens and it goes out of print. This is one fabulous Christmas (or anytime disc...why does one have to just listen to this music for only a few days or weeks out of the year???).
Some Highlights of this fabulous disc are "Little Toy Trains"...if you've not heard this song, get ready for floods of memories from your childhood to come rushing back. "Ave Maria" certainly one of the FINEST renditions of this wonderful piece of music ever recorded BY ANYONE! The (other) "Ave Maria", again in the same class as the Bach-Gounod one. "Petit Papa Noël", also "Mon Beau Sapin", and the grand old "Deck the Halls With Boughs of Holly" all guarantee your enjoyment of this album, along with the other, perhaps less known songs. Trust me, it is ONE SPECIAL disc, luckily, at present STILL in PRINT! Don't wait too long! ~operabruin"
Not up to my expectations

"I ordered "Christmas with Nana Mouslouri" with the expectation of high quality: the reviews were excellent and what I heard on the sampler led me to believe that this CD would be a good addition to my holiday library.
I like a fully supported voice that has clear, unmuddied tones. I found parts of different songs to be a bit off-key and the voice "crackly." At times I cringed: some songs were rather tentatively rendered and the singer seemed a bit "old womanish." This may be a purposeful "style" that is just not appealing to me.
All in all the purchase was a disappointment."

"Considering the cost of the album, I was very disappointed. Her voice was beautiful, as usual, but their were too few songs, and I didn't need to hear the same song twice."
Every child should grow up having this album to listen to at

"1000 stars out of 5... I agree with all the other reviews: there is something magical about Nana's voice, her expertise speaking and singing in several languages adds so much to her appeal, I grew up with this album always in the background at Christmas, you will never forget this album once you put on, the songs are classics and I actually love it so much that I listen to it in July too. Nana's best album ever, and that is saying a lot with so many wonderful ones to choose from. Just get it and you will understand... Merry Christmas Nana!"
