"I like this orchestra. They are small enough to play with precision, yet big enough to sound powerful. The Carbon "symphony" is the most interesting work by far. In fact, it led me to a host of other recordings made later by this composer (whose work, unfortunately, I did not know previously). he has grown as a composer, but the "Hommages å Trios" is a promising early work, and deserves repeated listenings."
Bravo Mr. Carbon!

"I particularly like Hommages on this disc because it is so original and unique--there is lyricism, drama, impressionism and mystery. But then again, I like Carbon's orchestra music alot. I also enjoy the Violin Concerto. The 2nd movement of Hommages is too slow, but the SRO sounds good throughout, and the strings are warm and lush."

"This has an early Carbon piece on it that is worth listening to. I don't think the performance is worth much, but the Hommages are fascinating because you can hear what his influences are. He's matured as a composer but I listen to this piece once in awhile and really like the piece. The other stuff on this album is pretty bad."
