"This collection emphasizes the jazzier Mills Bros. of the 30's. On many of the tracks they augment their accapella sound (plus acoustic guitar) by simulating instuments with their voices. When accompanied, it's by The Duke Ellington Orchestra (Diga-Diga-Do), Ella Fitzgerald (Dedicated To You) and Louis Armstrong (Carry Me Back to Old Virginny, W.P.A.).
This set is distinguished by the awesome sonic quality the Saga remastering wizards seem to get on all their recordings. I've listened to a lot of others, but none so clearly presents the subtle timbres and harmony resonance of that most difficult to reproduce instrument: the human voice.
CD's in the Saga Jazz series from France seems to be harder to get. I'd snag this now before it disappears. You might also want to pick up the great early Coleman Hawkins CD Henderson Days before it goes away."
