"I enjoy minimalism when it is done well, and this is done very well. "The Kiss", one of the pieces, describes in detail the subtle motions of a kiss; it is very beautiful. Minimalism can often be too monotonous, repetititive and drawn out. This is none of the above. The progression of each piece couldn't be better timed. Each piece brings you into a minimalist pattern, and then takes it to an appropriate climax. This music makes me stand up and swoon, it really is beautiful. If you have a girlfriend, she would love it if you played this for you I'm sure. This album can bring you a tear to your eye, it is that beautiful. All I have heard from Nyman is "The Piano", "The Cook, The Thief, The Wife"(sic), and his "Ravenous"(excellent) film score, among those I would rate this as the best."
