"This is yet another in a wonderful series of music by Michael Bolton. This music is as wonderful to hear as it is to feel. The earthy, smoky quality of his voice penetrates right through you. I am a long time fan, and hope a new CD will be coming soon! I am never disappointed by the quality and emotion of this music."
Good enough for adult contemporary pop

"I see nothing wrong with a singer pleasing his audience. Obviously, many reading this review will enjoy his style which is sort of a cross between Barry Manilow and Josh Groban. These are strong, emotional love songs and while they don't express deep and complicated emotions, they are seductive, especially aimed for the gals. And while guys may be less impressed, he's worth studying in order to understand better what reaches his femle audience."
His best Soul not Rock

"This is the best CD he has ever put out. He worked with Diane Warren (Monica, Brandy, Whitney Houston ETC) Babyface, Barry Eastmond (Anita Baker, Barry White), David Foster ( Chaka Khan) , And Jamie Houston ( New comer of soul music industry). The songs have good beats. Safe place from the storm is a hot track with a funky intro a quiet beat and then a Rodney Jerkins type bassline. The Best of Love a Made For Toni Braxton type song. Why Me something only out of Babyface's genius. and then the whole rest is peering as the premier soul I think Bolton is trying to create. Keep making them like this!"

"What can I say. I went in to the store looking for the single "Go The Distance", I was unsucessful so I begrudgingly picked up this CD, as I walked to the counter I turneed the Cd over, That's when I saw the song that later Dropped me to the floor the so hard cd skipped. "Safe Place From the Storm" I was so determined to get that song, I forgot about "Go The distance"
Anyway. I strongly Recomend this CD because it has something for everone. If it can bring me back after leaving Michael's music for two years because of misinformation. It has to be perfect for someone who never left."
Great...If You Like Him

"I can recognize that Michael Bolton does what he does very well. He just doesn't appeal to me personally. I like love songs but generally prefer and older style such as from Sinatra or Bennet. More than that, though, his voice is not as smooth to me as many others. That does not stop this from being a good album for those who like him, though.
The mixes are strong and he is definitely able to belt out the songs. I think that even the songs would appeal to many; I liked many of them but didn't like the performance.
