"Coloratura repertoire is difficult to compile. You would think that a "best of sample" just wouldn't flow. Well, sometimes old-timers shrug and this CD shows you why. The repertoire selection is diverse, ranging from arias with full orchestra to intimate art songs. And Ms. Dobbs is at the height of her purity of sound and technique.Dobbs is currently a judge for the Marian Anderson Vocal Competition. Hearing this CD places you in a different time when she made such an impact on music-making as a whole. This CD is great for the vocal student learning new songs and diction, and at the same time for the expert seeking quality. Simply exceptional, it's a CD you can't just copy/burn from a friend."
