"Many people aren't aware of it, but Marilyn Monroe was a very capable singer. She had a beautiful, rich, sexy voice that transcended the breathiness of her screen voice. Most of the songs presented here are from her films like Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Niagara, There's No Business Like Show Business, River of No Return, and Let's Make Love. These include the famous Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend and Lazy, but several are alternate takes from those used like Bye Bye Baby. Still more are not from films at all. Do It Again was a seductive song that Monroe sang to entertain troops in Korea which was later changed to the less risque Kiss Me Again. You'd Be Surprised is also a fun, sexy song. Perhaps the worst song is the Happy Birthday sung to JFK, one of Marilyn's most popular musical performances. You probably will not find yourself tuning into it much. The rest is top notch."
