Rising, Margot MacDonald's debut album, is a collection of 10 original songs by this young singer-songwriter. Margot's music is a mix of pop styles with blends of rock, jazz, folk, R&B and moving ballads. Her words offer refreshingly positive messages of youthful wonder and aspiration - yet with surprisingly lyrical sophistication and deep sentiment. Rising has been produced by John Jennings, a producer-guitarist best known for his multi-Grammy Award-winning association with Mary Chapin Carpenter, who has called Margot an astonishing young songwriter. With superb instrumentals featuring John's legendary guitar licks and Margot's beautiful vocals, this album will move all those young at heart. Margot wrote the album's title song, Rising, for her friend, Andrew, who has faced the challenges of leukemia this past year. In his honor, the Childhood Leukemia Foundation will receive a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Rising.
