"This CD re-issues two mid 50's Whiting Lp's "Songs For The Starry Eyed" and "Love Songs." Both are generally excellent, Whiting has always been and still is today a very lyrical singer who puts meaning and perfect diction(I mean the Rosemary Clooney kind)into every song, yet she isn't stiff at all, she can swing like Helen Warn when needed. Excllent introduction to a truly great standard bearer. Also look hard for a Japanese import CD or a two Lp set in vynol stores titled "Margaret Whiting Sings Jerome Kern" on the Verve label."
