"This debuts on CD two of Mantovani's most popular recordings from the early 1960's. Movie buffs will particularly enjoy this set because the film music played in Mantovani's incomparable style will entrance and delight all who have the ear for the maestro's classy arrangements and good taste. The golden hits,Exodus, Moon River, and Never on Sunday, the provocative themes from the films Fanny and Judgment at Nuremburg, and the wistful waltz from Return to Peyton Place, will please new and old Mantovani fans alike. Mantovani's piano and string treatment of the familiar theme from the Jack Lemmon movie, The Apartment, is nothing short of spectacular. And those who are enjoying Streisand's vocal revival of Andre Previn's movie theme masterpiece from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, will recognize how Mantovani chose to play only the music he knew would stand the test of time. There is so much to enjoy on this CD that it is worth the higher than normal CD price. Attention all true Mantovani fans!! Do yourselves a big favor and buy this Vocalion CD. It will affirm that Mantovani's original recordings are back to soothe our senses with time-honored themes that sound better than ever!"

"If I were to choose any two Mantovani albums to release on CD, these would be my choice. And they are together on this release. Mantovani was a lot less schmaltzy and more edgy on this one, especially on dramatic tracks like "The Big Country" and "Barabas". Offbeat scores from "Return to Peyton Place" and "Advise and Consent" accompany standards like "Exodus" and "Moon River". Great. Get it!"
