"Lou is the blues personified and on this CD he is at his finest. I just heard the CD today, (8/04/00) and I'd hate to have to pick an "A" track from it. It's simply an "A" disc! "Baby What You Want Me to Do", "Chains of Love", A duet with Big Joe Williams, who can pick or pass on any of these cuts? There are some ballads here also, and altho Lou does a very credible job on each, I feel his forte is the blues with the simple easy way he bends the notes. The sax & guitar work is first rate also, with even a little cameo by Lionel "The Hamp" on "Sat nite Fish Fry". If you like Lou Rawls, or if you just like the blues, this CD is for you!"
OK, but not his best

"Lou Rawls had an incredibly smooth, expressive voice, but I was disappointed in this album even though it has a stellar cast of guest artists including Joe Williams, Phebe Snow, Junior Wells, Joe Lovano, and Buddy Guy to name a few. I think the two best cuts are "Save Your Love for Me" and "Saturday Night Fish Fry." To me, the rest of the songs seem to lack the spontaneity of his best work. I doubt that I'll listen to this cd much now that I've heard it a couple of times. A better choice, in my opinion, is "The Legendary Lou Rawls," a five star album that I don't get tired of hearing."
Awesome!

"I wasn't familiar with these songs as they are not normally listed in the "greatest hits". I found them awesome!"
