CD Reviews

Knee Slappin' Fifties Fun
Flaura Hayes | Danville, PA USA | 11/18/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I wanted to hear a song I heard a couple of years before I was married called, "Bring me a little water Sylvie." I was so surprised when up popped this CD set of 3 with the song on it!

It's noisy, but a lot of fun ~ especially Sylvie CD #2, but if you've lived long and full of years, as I have, you'll probably recognize many of the tunes on the three CDs. If not, you're in for a surprisingly good time! I remember "jitterbugging" to the incessantly vigorous drum beat.

It made me miss my father-in-law, who's passed on ~ he would have been doing a falsetto to it, and either "playing the spoons" or playing a washboard; he was the classic "knee-slapper," and an excellent dancer! This album brought back some happy old memories!
