"My grandmother had an old record player and a few albums and this was one of them. It wasn't Christmas unless I lay on the floor listening to the Lennon Sisters sneaking down the stairs to have a peek. I checked other on-line stores, but I could not find this CD anywhere until now. There voices were always perfect, their hair was always in place, and their smiles were always just for me. Christmas with the Lennon Sisters is a wonderful CD, bringing back many wonderful, wonderful memories. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to travel back to a childhood of goodness and wonder and magic."
I didn't grow up with this album ...

"... but I wish I had.
Let's be frank: there was a lot of, well, bad Xmas albums recorded in the 60's. This is not one of them. All of the tracks are at least good, with several being truly outstanding (excepting the painfully cheezy closing track, "Christmas Island", which some music exec almost certainly must have insisted they record in hopes of cashing in on Bing's famous Hawaiian number).
As Amazon doesn't have the tracklist posted, here it is, along with my "out of 5 stars" ratings:
***** 01 - The Little Drummer Boy
**** 02 - Silent Night
*** 03 - White Christmas
*** 04 - I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
**** 05 - I'll Be Home for Christmas
*** 06 - Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
***** 07 - Adeste Fideles
*** 08 - O Little Town of Bethlehem
*** 09 - Away in a Manger
**** 10 - Hark! the Herald Angels Sing
*** 11 - Joy to the World
*** 12 - Jingle Bells
**** 13 - Winter Wonderland
** 14 - Christmas Island
Overall: 3.5/5"
Classic Christmas Music From My Past

"In the late 60's and throughout the 70's my parents had several Christmas albums that were played almost non-stop each December. There were a select few that we're packed every Christmas Eve and taken to my grandparents house for our big family Christmas in the country and Christmas With The Lennon Sisters was one of them. I finally purchased this classic and now my kids like it to."
"Of the two great LENNON SISTERS christmas albums, this one, CHRISTMAS WITH THE LENNON SISTERS, gets the nod as the better one. This would be mostly due to the great arrangements and conducting of the backing orchestra music by MILT ROGERS. It is fantastic and very powerful and christmasy like the best backing orchestra christmas music I know of. I really like the string sound and the fantastic rhythms. I would say that the orchestra music is a little more powerful on this album than their other one and the music is especially more lively on this record. I'm going to have to now look to see what else MILT ROGERS may have recorded in terms of christmas music. And of course, the LENNON SISTERS sing perhaps flawlessly throughout. Just like the backing orchestra music, I find a little more power and especially a more lively style in their singing on this record over the NOEL one.
Every song is great, especially the secular (non-religious) ones such as RUDOPLH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER, I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS, WHITE CHRISTMAS, WINTER WONDERLAND, I SAW MOMMY KISSING SANTA CLAUS, etc....
If there's any weakness here (and I'm still not sure), it would be some of the religious songs as I find the LENNON SISTERS may miss the power/tone of the song that other singers get. However, their singing is still very beautiful and professional and so I'm not sure if there's any weaknes on this album.
There is also a backing male/female chorus on here and they do as great a job as any backing chorus so this is another plus for this album.
The sound is very good and clear yet still in that old 1950's/1960's style which is best for this music (to my liking anyway).
So good is this album that I would say it's my second favorite '4 person singing group' christmas album out there next only to the AMES BROTHERS mid 1950's album, THERE'LL ALWAYS BE A CHRISTMAS. And so, if you like the AMES BROTHERS, THE LETTERMEN, and even 'crooners' such as PERRY COMO and BING CROSBY (since this is the general style of this LENNON SISTERS christmas album), then I can't recoomend this album (cd) enough to you. It is for sure somewhere up there with my favorites and may very well be a christmas classic/masterpiece.
