"Warm And Sincere has many songs by Kitty Kallen that are making their CD debut; and therefore this album is a "must-have" for Kitty Kallen fans like me. I love to hear Kitty Kallen sing; her voice is invariably as clear as a bell and she always gave blood to make her performance shine! This album showcases Kitty in her natural element, singing as only she could with excellent musical arrangements to go along with her vocals. The quality of the sound is very good; and the artwork reflects good taste as well.
"Milwaukee" begins the album with Kitty delivering this like the chanteuse she always was and still remains! She handles tempo changes as effortlessly as if it were just breathing; and those backup vocalists work well, too. Of course, "Little Things Mean A Lot" was one of Kitty's biggest hits--and maybe her best hit ever. "Little Things Mean A Lot" is remarkably sweet and I could never tire of hearing this wonderful song when Kitty sings it. "In The Chapel In The Moonlight" features an organ as Kitty sings this to perfection--and beyond! Kitty delivers this with style and the strings are used to great advantage. "If It's A Dream" puts Kitty Kallen squarely front and center--right where she belongs! "If It's A Dream" is heavenly; and listen for "Come Spring." "Come Spring" is a song that explores a woman's feelings for a man she wants to be in her life; and I really like "Only Forever." "Only Forever" is a masterpiece in Kitty's capable hands; she never falters and that music adds to the natural beauty of this ballad.
"How Lonely Can I Get?" has a fantastic arrangement that stuns me with its beauty; and "Will I Always Be Your Sweetheart?" again delves into a woman's feelings for her man. The lush musical arrangement works wonders for this ballad and the backup chorus harmonizes faultlessly. I love it! "True Love" has us hearing Kitty's rendition of this classic love song; and she does this so well I'm convinced that Kitty's rendition is THE definitive version of this timeless love song. "Star Bright" is very sweet; and "Gently, Johnny" is yet another fine highlight of this album. "Gently, Johnny" has Kitty singing of how she must say good-bye to her sweetheart; this bittersweet ballad shines brighter than silver and gold combined when Kitty Kallen does it up right!
"Teen-age Heart" is extremely pretty; and listen for "Long Lonely Nights." "Long Lonely Nights" has been performed by other artists; but only Kitty can take this to such incredible heights. "Long Lonely Nights" is another tune I couldn't possibly tire of hearing--if Kitty Kallen sings it! In addition, "I Never Was The One" features Kitty singing with an elegant piano arrangement; Kitty makes this sound magical indeed! "East Of The Sun" is also very well done; and the album ends wonderfully with the incomparable Kitty Kallen performing "Good Intentions." "Good Intentions" leaves you wanting more.
These Kitty Kallen ballads are terrific; and they clearly leave you wanting more. I highly recommend this for fans of the wondrous Kitty Kallen; and people who enjoy classic pop vocals will also want this for their music collections.
