Spellbinding, mindblowing, baby

"Krog sings like a Scandinavian Peggy Lee: superb pitch control, and a second-to-none ability to swing and improvise with the music. There are some standards (I'll wait for you is just gorgeous), a live track (round about midnight), even a wordless vocal with sitar accompaniment. I gasped in disbelief when I first heard her singing "offkey", as she managed to simultaneously maintain her pitch and use her voice to both lead and complement other instruments. This is a truly great album of seriously good jazz singing."
Sounds even better today

"This record is great. If only backing bands were as tight as this today. Her voice is incredible. I couldn't recommend this more highly. Fans of any of the Nu Jazz or Nu Soul movents should definitely check this out. Fans of old school Jazz or Funk will find a lot of great pleasures here as well. The drummer on the tracks sounds like the drummer from the best Ike Turner stuff. Very tight record."
