"This C.D. has been out since early March and pairs Joni James' thrilling 1959 opus "Songs of Hank Williams" with 1962's "Joni James Country Style." It's hard to overstate how remarkable the Hank Williams set is--an absolutely haunting piece of work both in James' performances and Chuck Sagle's country-comes-to-the-city arrangements and dramatic stereo engineering. James will tear your heart out when you "My Heart Would Know" or "I Can't Help It If I'm Still in Love With You." This album reveals what a great writer Williams really was in any genre. The "Country Style" album, recorded in Nashville, has a different, more downhome sound but is totally enjoyable. Joni's Hank Williams album sold many millions of copies of M-G-M Records; consider it essential."

"All of Joni James music is incredible,unique,sentimental...The thrill of having all her music on c/d's is fantastic...All of her fans know this and can't get enough of her singing.................The truth was revealed in her latest and greatest c/d where 9 new songs were written by the famous and will be missed( Lew Douglas )and Joni's incredible style and voice.........It is so exciting to hear her releasing her old songs but the thrill of those 9 new songs is wonderful......No other artist Sinatra,Fitzgerald.,Clooney etc has accomplished anything like this..........So as Joni sings "I wanna be with you"Joni, please keep singing forever for us because we wanna be with you............"

"Joni never ceases to amaze me. These renditions of country classics are too good for country song lovers exclusively. I could listen to these songs over and over. There is not a bad cut in the lot and most are absolutely outstanding. She pays a first rate tribute to the late Hank Williams. If you like Joni and country music, you will love this CD. You might even love it if you didn't "think" you liked country music."
