Wonderful Wonderful was Johnny's second album for Columbia and, whilst his single hits were recorded with Ray Conniff conducting the orchestra, this album featured Percy Faith. "This is a beautiful and classy album, which seems to have gone out of print in the US. Mathis' technique among pop singers is a wonder. He presents definitive interpretations of standards as well as some new ballads. Early Autumn is most moving. A joy."
