"For those fans who want to add on more classic Johnny Mathis music to your collection, all in the original stereo mixes that were released in the late 1950's when the songs were first released at a decent price, get this pressing of "More Johnny's Greatest Hits." Several of these songs were not top 40 hits per se but are as great as the hits that are on this collection and were originally released as B sides and album tracks, but historically this is a great addition to the Johnny Mathis collection as this is the first Johnny Mathis compilation album that features true stereo as the first volume of greatest hits wasn't released in stereo (the CD is only in mono, and there are rechanneled stereo vinyl pressings that exist of the first volume of greatest hits) but 2 VA CD's that have "Chances Are" which are "Radio Classics of The 50's" and "16 Most Requested Songs of The '50's Vol. 1" do have "Chances Are" in stereo. "Stairway To The Sea" is one of the many classic B Sides on this CD (it is the B Side to the original "Call Me" single) and a couple of songs originated in musicals such as "Small World" are given the Johnny Mathis touch here. Other highlights on this great CD include "Teacher, Teacher," and "A Certain Smile" but the entire CD is classic. Of course, the orchestration only adds on to the great songs which all Mathis fans do know. You don't need to buy the CD of this album that costs a couple of dollars higher than this pressing as this pressing uses the same digital master according to CDDB.com as the CD ... here at Amazon does and the music is very well produced anyway. Enjoy Mathis at his sonic best for a few dollars less as the material is classic Mathis right at his prime as this compilation is just as good as the all time best selling first volume of greatest hits."

"Johnny Mathis still goes strong today as he entertains millions of people all over the world; and this CD release of an early record album by this incomparable crooner easily proves why.
The CD track set begins with "Small World." Johnny sings "Small World" to perfection with an elegant piano arrangement; he sings passionately of how he has found his one true love. "Someone" makes good use of a female backup chorus; this playful love ballad shines like gold in Johnny Mathis's hands! "Someone" stuns me with its beauty. In addition, "Very Much In Love" also has a marvelous backup chorus; Johnny sings of an undying love and the strings enhance the beauty of this number.
Johnny delivers "You are Everything To Me" flawlessly; and listen for "The Flame Of Love." "The Flame Of Love" has an upbeat melody that belies the somewhat melancholy lyrics to the song.
Johnny never misses a beat on that classic Johnny Mathis ballad entitled "A Certain Smile." "A Certain Smile" is easily a highpoint of this CD; and the strings carry the bulk of the arrangement very well. "Call Me" also charms me with its beauty.
"Stairway To The Sea" gives us Johnny Mathis singing passionately of how he wishes he were reunited with his lover; and "Stairway To The Sea" sports a Latin beat that makes good use of the guitars and the strings. Excellent!
The final track is entitled simply "Let's Love." This tune has an upbeat melody with a magnificent arrangement as Johnny sings to celebrate the joys of love.
Johnny Mathis can take the phone book, sing it out loud and when he finishes you'll be screaming for more! This fine CD gives us another twelve of Johnny's best; and I highly recommend this for fans of Johnny and fans of classic pop vocals.
Enjoy!
