"These songs reminded me of my childhood, when my Mom used to crank up the stereo to listen to Joe Dassin. Great love songs, though some seem sort of cheesy these days."

"Even if Joe Dasin died over 20 years ago, his music is still just as popular and just as alive in many parts of the world. It is a testimony to the quality and the uniqueness of his talent. Growing up listening to radio in French, all these melodies are very familiar to me. However, when I moved to Latvia many years ago, it was a great surprise to see that almost everyone in the ex-Soviet Union knows many of Joe Dassin's songs. They sing them with the wrong words, but for them, for many years, he was a symbol of the West, and everyone looked up to him. He was one of the only singners from the West allowed into the Soviet Union. In this part of the world, we still hear Jos Dassin on the radio daily, and it seems like he never left us."
