"We really enjoyed this CD. It's difficult to find music by Jimmie Heap and the Melody Masters. This made a great Christmas gift for my man who loved it. But . . . where's the Dessau Hall Waltz?"

"(David, imagine finding you here!)Uncle Jimmy's music always made us smile when we were growing up, awed by his gittar playing and love of Texas songs. Really fun memories of him and his band, even though we (ahem) didn't go to the concerts like we should have.I'm glad that Bear Music has made it possible for today's generation to get down and boogie. The common criticism of the Melody Masters was that they didn't mix up their music better. They didn't alternate slow sexy songs with hard driving rockabilly. They played dance music. Period. While modern concertgoers might prefer the now-standard change of pace, Jimmy Heap's band played music for people to dance to. Songs they could sing along with. Fun evenings out, sawdust on the floor. And did he ever manage to succeed at what he set out to do!"

"I grew up listening to this music, and going to all of my dad's dances. Many of these songs on this album I have heard on my dad's old seventy-eights; but they never sounded as clear as they do on this album. Also if you ever get a chance try and find some of "the Jimmy Heap comedy albums"."
