"Not only does Jerry Vale have an outstanding, definitive voice quality that plays to the best of the senses in the listener, but Mr. Vale seems to forever choose songs that have wonderful heartfelt lyrics. In this regard I look to Steve Allen's terrific lyrics from "Pretend You Don't See Her". Great melody; wonderful words. An outstanding album of some of the best."

"I have listened to Jerry Vale for 40 years, and there is no way to mistake his voice for another. Bravo, bravo, each time I hear the selections from this CD, bravo. He is wonderful when he sings Two Purple Shadows in the Snow, my eyes water with his beautiful redition of Mama, and I relive my childhood with his Old Cape Cod. This is a must for all Vale lover's, as is all his CD's. Bravo, bravo."
Feelings from the heart

"When I first heard Jerry Vale's, "Pretend you don't see her", on our local radio station, I was so moved by the rich simplicity of his style and the haunting resonance I felt deep within my heart, I tried for months to get it on tape the next time they played it. I finally was able to copy it and enjoyed it over and over again. The authentic simplicity of the style, the truth of the words, and the beautiful melody lines combine to make this disc a treasure to enjoy in years to come."
THE SCORCESE SOUNDTRACK MASTER.

"Jerry Vale is a premiere performer, both studio and live. Where would Marty Scorcese's gangster classics have been without Jerry on the soundtracks? These 17 tracks are great, sung with incredible passion and phasing. How did Robert Goulet score a top 10 hit with his version of "My Love Forgive Me" over this masterwork. Maybe this explains Elvis shooting the television?"

"Jerry Vale sings so well on this album that he could easily charm the birds right out of the trees; and this album proves it. I like the sound quality and the artwork is nicely done.
"Have You Looked Into Your Heart" gives us Jerry's vocals squarely in the spotlight with a lush musical arrangement. The chorus in the background harmonizes so well and the strings sound great--and Jerry never misses a note! He sounds very strong on this number. "Mama" is a song that many people can identify with even if there are Italian lyrics. The guitar sounds great and Jerry sings this to perfection. Listen also for "You Don't Know Me." "You Don't Know Me" is a stunning love ballad that gets the royal treatment from Jerry who sings this with great sensitivity.
"Tears Keep On Falling" has a lush musical arrangement and Jerry sings this as if it were the freshest tune I had ever heard! Jerry's voice is full of strength and warmth as well. "Dommage, Dommage (Too Bad, Too Bad)" also showcases Jerry's incredible voice as he shows off his operatic qualities. "Dommage, Dommage (Too Bad, Too Bad)" is easily a highlight of this album.
"Pretend You Don't See Her" has a wonderful melody and Jerry handles the tempo changes effortlessly; and "'O Sole Mio (My Sunshine)" sparkles like gold in Jerry's capable hands! Jerry sings this beautifully and the strings enhance the natural beauty of this number.
"The Impossible Dream" is another hit for Jerry who sings this better than just about anyone ever could! Listen also for "Arrivederci, Roma" which Jerry sends straight out of the ballpark. The accordion sounds great and makes this number feel more Italian; Jerry's touch also helps to make "Arrivederci, Roma" glisten.
"Innamorata (Sweetheart)" really sounds special when Jerry sings this; and I am sure that you will enjoy this track by Jerry. This is classic pop music at its very best!
Overall, fans of Jerry Vale will consider this a must-have for their collections. People who are more casual fans will also want this as a type of single CD retrospective that lets them get the best of Jerry's work without buying numerous albums.
