"Sometimes it's frustrating to buy a CD-Single if it only has 3 tracks, the original and two mediocre remixes. This single does not fit into that category. It's got 5 full-length tracks as follows:#1 - Radio Edit (3:18) - I love this edit because all they really did was cut the profanity out (thank you, it doesn't need to be in there Jennifer). The song length was only cut by 14 seconds.#2 - Full Intention Mix/Radio Version (3:18) - This is an awesome club mix that gives the song a 70's disco/funk feel. I could totally picture Cameron Diaz dancing to this mix in "Charlie's Angels." It would have fit perfectly. The beat is sped up to 140 beats per minute (as opposed to 115 in the original).#3 - Artful Dodger Mix/Main Mix Radio (4:35) - Another really good club mix with more of a hip-hop feel to it. It does a good job mixing the vocals from "Play" with a melody line from "Love Don't Cost A Thing" and a steady, dance drum beat. There is also a little synthesizer mixed in that sounds a little bit out of place (sounds like something from Yaz or Gary Neuman from the 80's), but it doesn't bug too much.#4 - Thunderpuss Club Mix (8:20) - This is a pretty good techno-style club mix. I don't like it as much as the others, but that might be because I get tired of the techno sound sometimes.#5 - Love Don't Cost A Thing (Main Rap #1 Featuring Puffy) (3:35) - This is a VERY cool hip-hop style mix with a rap (~20 seconds) from Puffy/P-Diddy. I like it more than the original.I would rate song numbers 1,2,5 with 5 stars out of 5. #3 would get 4 stars, and #4 would get 3.5. If you want to get one of J-Lo's CD singles, this is the one to get. I've got two others (Feelin So Good & Ain't It Funny), but this one is the best. "Ain't It Funny" would be a better purchase if you like her Latin stuff a lot. But this one is great if you like the original album version of "Play.""
Awesome mixes of an awesome song!

"This great dance song is made even better by the remixes on this CD. The Full Intention Mix throws a little bit of a disco spin on the track, while the Artful Dodger Mix is the sort of song you might hear on Madonna's "Music." But by far the best track is the Thunderpuss remix. You can't go wrong with Thunderpuss!! The tempo is sped up somewhat and is a blast to sing along with, and of course has all the crescendos that a good dance mix needs. The last remix of "Love Don't Cost a Thing" takes a little getting used to, but even with Puff Daddy, it's a pretty good remix. But this single is worth the money for the Thunderpuss remix alone!! If you like remixes, then you should definitely buy it!"
Not what this song deserves

"I really like JLo, I'm a huge fan of hers. I own her debut album, remix album, This is Me..Then and JLo. I also own three of her singles-this, Let's Get Loud and I'm Gonna Be Alright. But I must say that Play- a totally awesome and rockin' song- did not get the remixes it deserved on this CD. As I have the clean version of JLO, the radio edit is new to me, and the fifth track is really good, Love Don't Cost a Thing with Puffy. The only decent remix of "Play" on here-the Full Intention Radio Edit. #3 is a disappointment, and #4, while having a nice beat, is simply too long. All in all, I like this CD, but more stunning remixes could have been featured. My fave remix is the SAck International Remix, which can be found on the album Jo to the LO! the Remixes."
Just get on with it and PLAY it

"Quite fabulously the best ever Jennifer Lopez single ever to be released. It sounds a little like her newest effort 'Get Right' --- CHARTED TOMORROW --- but this is slightly better. This is the second CD single of her hit 'Play' from Australia. I have both versions, CD 1 includes mixes from Rudia Sylvia, Full Intention (Full 12" Remix) & Artful Dodger (same remix as on here) plus HQ2 & Full Intention remixes of 'Love Don't Cost A Thing.' I'm not sure which I like better, they are both good but these are the tracks for this CD:
01 Play (Radio Edit) (3.18)
02 Play (Full Intention Remix -- Radio Edit) (3.19)
03 Play (Artful Dodger Main Remix) (4.37)
04 Play (Thunderpuss Club Remix) (8.20)
05 Love Don't Cost A Thing (Main Rap #1 feat. Puffy) (3.36)
The first 4 tracks for Play flow very nicely. The radio edit is like the album version the part took out is the 'swearing' part (Now Mr. DJ, I've asked you three times, play my mother****** song). Track 2 is a more laid back remix but very nice. To hear the full mix turn to the Aussie CD part 1! (This is part 2) Track 3 is also on the 'other' Aussie CD but I enjoy it! It sounds very much like Artful Dodger's music! Track 4 is the treat. People either love or hate it - for the amount of techno in the mix -- but in this case, everyone seems to love it and praise it -- and so do I! Track 5 is 'Love Don't Cost A Thing.' The Main Rap #1 feat. Puffy is rather pleasant. Everyone seems to hate it but it's alright.
